Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Plant syringa in a well-drained soil with medium moisture, in full sun. To ensure blooms for the following year, any necessary pruning should be done soon after flowering.

Additional Notes about Isabella Lilac:

Preston lilacs are Canada’s contribution to the lilac world. Isabella Preston, Canada’s first female hybridizer, crossed S. villosa x S. komarowii to create a new group of later-blooming lilacs. They are a much larger lilac, with a noticeably different flower, leaf shape, and scent.
